The teenage students have been at the school for over two weeks, and time has really flown by. New friends are being made from around the world. Lots of new experiences are taking place. And most importantly the students are having a great deal of fun.
They have gone on many different activities including playing team sports in the park, learning to drink tea like a Lord or Lady, visiting Brighton, and a river boat cruise in London. The programme of activities is varied and full, there is always something to suit everyone.
Each morning, during the week the, learners attend English lessons. The lessons are based on communication and use different methods to encourage the students to speak and interact with each other.
After lunch, the fun and cultural activities start. They are lead by an activity leader who has experience working with and leading teenage students.
Both classes and activities are in mixed nationality groups, this enables the students to use and practise new language learned and to use it confidently.
Some students have written about their time in Hastings and some of the activities they have attended.
Hastings is a beautiful town, it’s make me think at Normandie which is North France. The house are pretty even if they look the same, the weather is great and we’re near the sea. The people are realy nice, they’re is a lot of shop and a shopping center but they close early.
There are a lot of seagulls which surprised me. I’m happy to spend my hollidays here. – Camille 15 years-
This days in Hastings were really cool. People are very nice and helpful and the town is beautiful. We discovered a lot of things about England and I hope I will come back. I love the architecture of the houses and the history of this town is so interesant. There are a lot of shops for shopping and the peir is beautiful. I think the only problem is the seagulls because they are very noisy. But this is a super cool city. – Roxanne 16 years-
