Minori Kojima, a student from Japan, has written a few words about her stay in Hastings and studying at Shane English School UK. Minori was a student at the school for nearly a year she was also one of our student ambassadors. The student ambassadors are very important here in the school. They buddy up with new students and introduce them to the rest of the school, make sure they have everything they need and show them where the best coffee shops, bars and places to go are.
I met many people who I spent a nice time together while I was in England. They made me feel that it is worth studying abroad and meeting new people. If I hadn’t studied in Shane Global Hastings I wouldn’t have met them and have had wonderful experiences.
In summer Shane Global Hastings had a lot of students from around the world. They have completely different culture and the way of thinking from Japanese ones so I was confused with their behavior sometimes but I could see and understand it gradually. I went out for lunch, dinner or a drink with my friends. At that time we spoke English to communicate each other so it became a good chance to use English which I studied in school. I have got on well with many students so I visited them when I was in Hastings. I enjoyed it very much.
Teachers were very kind as well. When I had some problems they tried to solve them as soon as possible and always took care of students. They planed lots of events that students can chat with students from other classes. It gave me opportunities to talk with many students and to find common topics.
My host family was also very nice. They welcomed me as a member of their family. I had good food, my room and British family. They always helped me have English life and I learnt daily life in England from them.
I am really happy with my experiences in Hastings. I would like to visit England if I have a chance.
It certainly sounds like Minori had a great time while living and studying in Hastings at Shane English School UK. So if you’re thinking of Studying English in the UK, visit the rest of our website to find out more about our courses and the school, or you can check out our facebook page.
