So apparently world international picnic day is on 18th June but as the weather was hotting up in London, I decided what the hell, let’s have an International-Picnic day in May (the hyphen makes all the difference here). Our students came here for an English language course in London but today they’re getting so much more. Today, they’re coming together and sharing culinary delights from around the globe.
Being Irish, I decided to bring some soda bread and smoked salmon. The school, obviously located in Britain, has kindly provided cream scones, Marmite (YUCK!) and our students provided the rest. It was a wonderful afternoon and thankfully the sun decided to come out and grace us with its presence once again. One of our kind students even brought us some falafel and one of our amazing teachers (pictured below but I won’t name her and embarrass her) came in on her day off to spend some time with our students…now that’s dedication. Thank you, Maureen (whoops!).

The Proof is in the Eating
So, if you’d like to meet interesting people from around the world, try international food or take part in our wonderful social programme, think about an English language course in London at Shane Global.
If you’d like to hear what our students think, check their own words!
