As you may or may not know, this weekend is a bank holiday weekend here in London, which means we have a day off on Monday! Woohoo!!!! But this also means that we are not going to see all of our lovely students in their English classes in London on Monday. Because I thought you might be at a loose end, I decided to take some time and suggest a few nice ways to spend your well-deserved day off.
London is an amazing city and it’s choc-full of lovely little pubs, parks, walks and restaurants. This weekend, why not try some of them out.
- Little Venice: OK, don’t expect actual Venice! It is definitely not that, but if the sun is shining and you’re looking for something to do, why not take a walk along the canals. You can walk the entire way from Little Venice to Camden. Click on the link above to find out more. It’s an amazing walk that takes you by London Zoo and if you’re lucky you might find a few little bars on boats as you go.
- Camden: If you’re out and about and you’ve just walked from Little Venice, why not stop in Camden Lock for some international food from street stalls or a drink in one of its many pubs. If you’re a music fan, check out the Hawley Arms in Camden. It was Amy Winehouse’s favourite pub and it still plays great music.
- Greenwich: If Camden isn’t for you, check out Greenwich on the other side of the city. I recommend getting the boat there if it’s a nice day and then checking out the market. And if you have time (hahahahahaha), don’t forget to check out the Greenwich meridian line.
So, hopefully, there’ll be something there for you. Have an amazing weekend and remember, although on Monday you won’t have an English class in London there’s a lot to do, so take advantage of it all!!!!
